Exasperated teachers often exclaimed, “I don’t know what you’ll do next!”
I’ve worked in the banking and the legal systems, with manufacturing and construction firms, in retail and distribution. I’ve taken courses in photography, creative writing, shamanism, psychology and hypnotherapy. I also enjoy cooking and gardening.
My sports have been tennis, squash and sailing. I enjoy most genres of music and always regretted not having learnt to play any instrument. I always read avidly and now write poetry and short stories. In 2000 I got the courage to share my work by publishing my first book –Would You Please Fetch Me A Pail? This picture book was inspired by my grandson and illustrated by his mother. I’ve written several books since. They evolve from my experiences so there is a bit of me in them all.
Over the years my photographs, books and writings have received awards in the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts - Barbados.
